Hayley Ladd in line for her twentieth Welsh cap

MIDFIELDER Hayley Ladd has been named in Jayne Ludlow’s latest Welsh squad to face Kazakhstan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ladd has made 18 appearances for Wales since making her debut against France in 2012.

She has featured in seven of Birmingham City’s matches so far this season and has impressed the fans with her defensive abilities.

She is currently Birmingham’s second highest assist maker for the season so far with two in her first seven matches.

Ladd is also off the mark for goals this season, scoring in a 4-0 WSL Cup win over Oxford United.

Her versatility in both defence and midfield will be no doubt be an asset for Wales going into their next two World Cup qualifiers.

Birmingham manager Marc Skinner believes there is a lot to admire about the 24-year-old.

“Hayley Ladd really reads the game well,” he said.

“She plays where she needs to play and picks up the second balls.

“Ladd also distributes the ball very well.”

Wales face Kazakhstan in Cardiff on November 24 before taking on Bosnia on November 28 away in Zenica.
