Damson Park Dames

Preview: Birmingham City v Bristol City

BIRMINGHAM City will be looking to avenge their league cup exit with victory over Bristol City this weekend.

Defeat to Manchester City last Sunday spelled the end of Blues’ Continental Cup journey for another season.

Birmingham’s last game at Damson Park was a 4-0 win over Oxford United back in October.

Bristol meanwhile secured their place in the quarter-finals of the league cup after Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

The Vixens will host Man City in the next round of the competition.

Birmingham will be without top scorers Charlie Wellings (away with England) and Ellen White (injury) for the visit of Bristol.

The hosts are also likely to be without midfielder Abbey-Leigh Stringer who is suffering from glandular fever.

Bristol City will also be missing one of their key players, Sophie Baggaley, who is unable to face her parent club Birmingham.
